Description:
When starting the game on my Mac with external displays connected through a docking station, the entire Mac system crashes. This issue appears to be related to saved settings, as the crash does not occur under the following conditions:

  • First time starting the game
  • Starting with the "--reset-all-prefs" option
  • Playing without any external monitors connected

Expected behavior:
The game should start and run normally, regardless of the display setup.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Connect Mac to external displays via docking station
  2. Launch Shapez 2 (version 0.0.8-rc3)
  3. Observe system crash

Additional notes:

  • This issue does not occur when playing without external monitors
  • The problem seems related to saved preferences, as a fresh start or reset prevents the crash

System information:

  • Game version: 0.0.8-rc3
  • Operating system: macOS 14/15 (Chip: Apple M3 Pro)
  • Display setup: Mac with external monitors via docking station

Hi, thanks for the detailed report.
We will have a look to see if the docking station / external display issue is something we can fix.

Does the same happen when you set the game to Windowed mode?
When the Docking station is connected, and you open the game settings, does the Docking station show up as a Monitor source option in the graphics settings?
