I was cutting (Shift + Left Click Drag, then Ctrl + X) a large structure made of many platforms, when the autosave happened at roughly the same time. When the autosave finished, the stuctures/platforms vanished but hitting paste had my old paste clipboard content and not the structures I just cut.
