At first Shapez 2 on my laptop crashed right after launching, but --safe-mode fixed that for me.

Now after some time in-game (it varies from 5 seconds on DX12 to couple of minutes on DX11/Vulkan) Shapez just freezes on last frame and doesn't respond until you just kill it. However, music keeps playing and i can hear the sound of last action (placing/removing building, opening menu etc.).

What i tried:

  • Different launch options. DX12 made it worse, DX11 and Vulkan are the same (but with Vulkan sometimes videos in tutorials are not loading, leaving tip with black box instead of video and eventually freezing the game as i described before)
  • --disable-store-sdk and -force-gfx-st flags. Has no effect.
  • Updating iGPU drivers. This allowed me to run game with Vulkan (before that it still launched with DX11, even with -force-vulkan). But otherwise has no effect too.
  • Locking FPS/Enabling VSync (https://discord.com/channels/1000343719314198548/1274088130970124298). Has no effect, with 30FPS lock game stops launching entirely.

There's no possible issues with RAM/VRAM (Have 16GB/8GB shared), game before freeze have like 1 sec 100% CPU/GPU load spike and after that drops to zero. The longest session without freeze i have is around 25 minutes.

Here's Player.log, but i don't think there's something useful in it because game freezes, not crashes.

I had similar issues,
I turned off auto save and I've been 1hrs+ in and no freeze. See if that works for you, also remember to save!
edit: nvm I eventually froze again that doesnt seem like the fix but it did help me a bit
