Hello,
I have HUGE screen tearing no matter what options I choose : with/without vertical sync. minimum preset, fps limit to 60, fullscreen/borderless, direct 11/12/Vulkan.
These screen tears make me sick (motion sickness) very quickly...

(impossible to screenshot the tearing)

In the NVIDIA panel, the option for "vertical synchronization" it on "use 3D application parameter"

Can you try using Fullscreen and see if it improves? Newer versions of Windows 10 and 11 support various optimizations to make fullscreen act similar to borderless fullscreen

I tried this before, I tried again and it's the same.

#

I use 3 monitors, I tried to disable the 2 others monitors with fullscreen, same problem.

Have you tried the other launch options?

Yeah they mentioned all 3 graphics APIs :/ Does your monitor have a higher refresh rate?

Yes, I tried Direct X 11/12 and Vulkan (Vulkan is worst)

In NVidia Panel I have the 60 fps limit option too

#

(for games who have no limits in menus to avoid burn graphic card ahah)

wild guess but maybe theres something in window's advanced graphcis settings
i keep having to change my monitor fps in there

Could you try both turning off the 60fps limit in the Nvidia control panel for a moment and also double check the Windows settings display refresh rate (like Moterius mentioned) and then see if the issue persists?

Ok I try that

#

In Windows settings, I have 59,997 Hz (normal so), I disabled the fps limit in Nvidia panel.
Same problem

Damn :(
Might also be worth turning anti-aliasing down to SMAA since at 4k MSAA is quite heavy. Not sure if you have a frame-rate counter anywhere to double check your not dropping frames (outside the settings menu)

I have the fps display from Steam too, use the minimum graphics settings. Same problem 😦

#

The fps counter show 59/60 fps constantly

I recorded with my smartphone at 60fps example (you can see the fps counter in top-left corner)

I have exactly the same problem

Hm, I honestly don't know what could cause it, but it could be anything related to Unity - i.e. we don't really do anything different to other Unity games. Do you happen to have had the issue on any other Unity based game?

It look likes the Vsync option just can't enable

#

Can you try disabling vsync and using the fps limit, and vice versa?

#

Also is it happening on full had as well?

#

(Sorry if this has been already tried)

Ok, I tried both:

  • fps limit 60 & no Vsync --> same problem
  • no fps limit & Vsync enable --> No more screen tearings but micro-freeze (stuttering)
#

I also raise my fps limit on Nvidia panel (to 75) before for an another test

#

I have less stuttering when I lowered graphics settings but same as minimum I have somes

I also had this issue. After playing with the in-game settings a little, I settled on FPS Limit: 120 FPS, VSync: 3rd VBlank, and Window Mode: Borderless. My display runs at 60Hz. These settings seem to reduce the screen tearing significantly, almost removing them completely for me.

#

I'm seeing about the same on other VSync-enabled settings.
