There's an irritating behavior when trying to place a belt or pipe that U-turns to go in the opposite direction of the start. In the video, I start placing a pipe going from east-to-west. Everything works fine as long as my mouse is to the left of that starting position, and when I drag the mouse to the Southeast it properly makes a U-turn, but when I drag the mouse directly East of the start, in the same row, the starting direction changes to west-to-east, making it a T-junction because of the fluid catcher. Its stuck in this direction until I drag the mouse directly west of the start, which flips the direction to the correct direction.
At the end of the video I place a belt without a connecting building that makes the flipping behavior very apparent. Now, that behavior actually feels correct when a belt is on its own, as it's useful there to have the flexibility to change the direction freely. My problem is that this flip-start behavior becomes quite irritating when I'm trying to place a U-turn immediately after a pre-existing building/belt/pipe, as it gets stuck on making a useless T-junction at the start if I ever cross over the same row as the starting square.
