#Why encourage people to post a reply and then close and lock the thread?

they must have forgotten to lock it earlier
your message reminded them
those threads are only for short term discussions
If you are talking about #✨updates and #📢discussions threads, we lock them after some time, usually after a few weeks, because the visibility of those threads diminishes over time due to new discussions being pushed, and the fact threads tend to go into a sort of hibernation state after a while. Once discussion dries up, they just end up being Junior versions of #👻off-topic , which generally drives 0 meaningful discussion and rarely has any relevance to what was initially discussed
Just because we sunset these threads after a while doesn't mean you aren't allowed to create new threads in the feedbakc and questions forums, which we would likely only remove and/or lock if we feel the discussion breaks server rules.
Of course if you have any opposition to what I just said you are more than welcome to contact any online moderators for rules clarifications. Any feedback that can improve both the livelihood of the server and moderator's jobs (lmao) is greatly appreciated! 🙂
Feedback here is 100% more visible in #1199773968438145134 than any amount of pings and ctivity in the #✨updates channel threads anyway 😄
